And Kaylin wanted 6 pigtails- half were braided
Pretty crazy, eh? Styling Justin's mohawk made me think of Evan and how he was BORN a rockstar!!
He didn't have to work for that mohawk- he was a natural! He even sported a mini mullet in the back. ;) He has some crazy fast growing hair- that little mohawk grew so fast, I finally broke down at just under 5 months old and had to get his hair trimmed. The sides and most the back (aside from his little mullet at the bottom) went bald, but that mohawk kept growing down past his ears- he was resembling a certain Nazi dictator minus the moustache, so something had to be done. LOL

What are you planning to do to me??
The out of control comb-over
After:
It looks like the rest of his head was shaved, but he simply lost his newborn fuzz that was there and it took a LONG time to finally fill in. The ex-mohawk had to be trimmed quite frequently- his first haircut was given by our very dear friend who has a shop in her basement. She used to live right down the street from us, but sadly moved about 15-20 mins away out in the middle of nowhere. I tried taking Evan two different places locally- both commenting they had never cut the hair of a baby so young before (and it wasn't even his first LOL), but it just wasn't the same as Miss Marianne. So, we make the drive out to see her since she is absolutely amazing with squirmy little babies and kids who want nothing to do with cooperating for a haircut. Yes, we had the same experience with Justin, so this path is not new to us. ;) Miss Marianne is a miracle worker!
Still sporting a comb-over at 8 months:
Growing in at 12 months:
Evan's hair has always brought him lots of attention. People oooo and ahhhhh over his beautiful red hair, look right at me and ask where he got it from (Hello?!? My hair IS red, granted not as bright as Evan's but still....) and as I mentioned in a previous post- I don't think half the people who meet him even realize he has Down syndrome. The hair is more of an attention-getter than any extra chromosome! ;)
I need more Down syndrome related questions to answer.... don't be shy! :) Also, just a reminder that our Birthday Bash Giveaway is ending in 3 days!! Just $10 to enter to win an iPad2 among many other awesome prizes... but EVERYONE wins by helping to save an orphan! :)
