Down syndrome camp is one of the biggest highlights of our summer. Last year was our first year, and the big kids have been talking about it ever since. Seriously- throughout the year they have asked over and over if we will be going back since they had such an awesome time! You can find last year's adventures HERE and HERE. Last year's theme was all about animals, and this year's theme has been the circus!!!
The first night was just the girls- the boys were a bit under the weather. Tonight's performance was the Juggling Hoffmans!
Kaylin got to go up on stage and help!
And then Lina got to go help with a trick!
The kids LOVED it! After the show it was time for our group to go to crafts. Whew, check those eyes!
Then there are games outside- Lina's favorite by far is the bounce house. She goes straight for it each time and doesn't spend much time doing anything else!
There were little carnival games and activities set up as well- so cute, and so much time and energy went into all of this! It was just amazing.
Crackers the clown was adorable- giving rides in her little clown car! Lina didn't get a chance to do this, but honestly I don't think she would have been interested as she still is afraid of people in costumes.
Day 2- continued carnival theme with Crackers the clown performing!! It was a rainy night so all the activities were moved inside. They boys were up and ready to go this time, but Evan was VERY clingy and tired since he had refused his nap. He did enjoy the beanbag toss though. :)
I didn't get many pics since I had to carry Evan around pretty much the whole time. It was very loud and congested inside and he was on edge.
She used her red scarf to turn the headband red!!
Evan half asleep on my lap during the show.
Lina loved hers so much, especially the nose- she refused to take it off the rest of the night! Evan wasn't as much of a fan. Here's me snapping a pic quick before he ripped it off, and forget about the hat!
Kids doing the tootie-tah!
And then off to crafts where they made clown masks. Lina insisted on holding her clown nose on the whole time.
Stay tuned for days 3-5!!
